For as much as I hate having it, why is this the 3rd damn time I've gotten food poisoning? I don't eat food in cesspools. Breakfast, lunch & dinner in one package.

Day 89/365
Ran like Chuck Norris was chasing me for a few miles. Except his light jogging speed is my medium gear.

Day 86/365
I remember a time when there weren't any fancy GPS watches. Only my sturdy Ironman Timex. Some days I miss not having the real-time data overload. But I do love my Garmin, keeps me honest!

Day 83/365
Almost fell off the wagon tonight & overdid it again. Just don't like having short, easy run days. A mile but isn't enough...

Day 82/365
Second day of very little sleep. But it was nice to try to pass some of those varsity XC runners. Never did, but I hung for a couple of miles.

Day 81/365
There's not better feeling than working hard for your goals. When your shoes have sweat marks, you're doing it right.

Day 80/365
Faith in yourself is one of the greatest but hardest things to achieve. Ignore the negative voices in your head. They're just shadows.

Day 79/365
Since today's the start of a new season it's time to re-evaluate why I'm doing extra mileage when I don't have to & strength exercises that don't do anything other than cause pain. Even the best of us can get caught up in numbers. Train smarter, not harder.

Day 78/365
Still a little chill in the air, but you just can't beat being out there on the roads with a sky like that!

Day 77/365
Treadmills are a great tool. But too much of something isn't good either. Survived tonight, but tomorrow is outside regardless of the weather.

Day 76/365
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Beer is an excellent recovery drink. No really, they used to give it to marathoners DURING races.

Day 74/365
Whether it's to be healthier, live longer for your children, be ready if fate calls on you, be a role model for those who need inspiration, be ready for your race, to set a PR, to take 1st in your age group or the one others look strangely at walking around town in shorts during a snowstorm. Get up, work hard, laugh, smile & be thankful for the amazing things you can do.

Day 73/365
Intellectually I know that running outside in this mess is downright dangerous. But the road is calling my name. All the white stuff better melt soon!

Day 72/365
Gotta say that this winter season has seen more treadmill running than usual. I'm thrilled that the hamstrings have improved enough to go long again on them. Beats running 1000 laps on a small indoor track. But enough with the cold & snow.

Day 69, 70 & 71/365
The last 3 days were quite stressful with the windstorm. Barely managed these runs. But the streak endures...day 778 & were back on track!

Day 68/365
Being a distance runner & going through a divorce teach you something important: you can let the obstacles thrown at you break you or you can adapt & overcome. No power, glad I have my Y membership, the streak remains intact at 775 days!

Day 67/365
Running tip: 200M on a track IS NOT a full lap. Remembered today & realized that I've been doing double length speed hill workouts. So why not do one more than the max number of reps (your dumb ass has been doing anyways)?!

Day 65/365
One nice benefit of trying new running kicks, when they don't work for running, they usually work for walking!

Day 62/365
Brighter days & warmer weather are just around the corner. One of my past favorite running pics to remind me of that.

Day 61/365
112.50 miles for the month of March! Overall mileage is starting to ramp up as Spring approaches & the distance racing season begins. That brings the Running Slush Jar to $206. Even though it's tough, I certainly am enjoying this challenge!

Day 60/365
Yes! I've made you suffer through 2 full months of my running related pics! Don't worry, only 10 more months left! "A river cuts through a rock not because of its power, but because of its persistence."
