I will never grow tired of looking up & hoping for those better things & people to come into my life. Not every fairytale plops into your life. Sometimes you gotta work hard to get there.
Welcome to my running blog! My name is Mark & I'm a long distance runner with a passion for exploring anything related to fitness, health & running. Please join me on the trails & roads of upstate NY where l'll talk about my life, my loves & whatever comes to mind... "To live is the rarest things in the world. Most people just exist..."

Day 176/365
After the surprise massive dehydration yesterday, wasn't into into doing anything today. But success doesn't come from sitting down.

Day 175/365
Ran some roads that I haven't been on since my son was in a running stroller, like 10 years. So many fond memories running this particular road with him. He was my best running partner at 6 weeks old & to date, nobody since has gone 20 miles plus with me. It was nice to relive some of that today.

Day 173/365
Talking with my Coach today about HR training. Guess what finally broke after years of abuse today? Yup.

Day 169 & 170/365
Realized this AM that I forgot to post yesterday. But when your charging headfirst into the future, making big decisions & celebrating being the dad of a superhero 12 year old you ain't got time for that. So today you get a double shot!

Day 165/365
Only 200 more days of pictures! Been trying to live like a thoroughbred even when I don't feel like it. Can't change the failures of the past; the dreams of the future are still out of reach; but that present is right here in front of you. You're never gonna be here again, so live your life for all it's worth.

Day 164/365
Along with my love of collecting watches, race medals & running stickers I also have a thing with gym bags. There's never enough room. The struggle is real...

Day 162/365
Ok, so all the racing stickers are gone on the new ride (for now). But I just can't drive around & not represent!
Day 161/365
Big smile today because it looks like I've finally found an apartment that meets a little big boy's high standards!

Day 159/365
Beautiful summer weather has returned to upstate NY! Nice shot of the local apple orchard on one of my running routes. Challenge accepted Coach Judy!

Day 158/365
Look up at that sun & those clouds. They're the same ones whether you're in New York or in Kathmandu. We all just want the peace of some miles. Happy Global Running day!

Day 157/365
Been an interesting experiment tracking my diet quality score vs. calories. Definitely need to continue to improve it. But surprisingly, haven't gained all that much weight.

Day 156/365
Not sure if it was the misty rain or the high humidity. But for my entire run, my iPod randomly read me song titles, playlist names, podcast titles & randomly played playlists. When your iPod throws your Metallica playlist at you, it's go time!

Day 155/365
When you're having a crappy day, at least you can still lace up your running shoes & knock back a mile for day 862 of your run streak. When you're done, you may recognize that one crappy day, doesn't make up an entire lifetime.

Day 154/365
Beautiful sunshine today. Had to remind myself that being out there is a privilege & to look up to enjoy the view.

Day 153/365
Long day laying a fallen brother to rest. So many emotions today. Memories of my father's funeral with Amazing Grace playing on bagpipes, my own crazy career & the ending of an amazing man's life. There was no complex running workout today. Just a simple mile underneath a clear blue sky & a beaming sun for a deputy who wore a badge number so close to mine. RIP 342
