Day 243/365

Cold breeze in the air tonight. But the sun was brilliant. The first few leaves of Fall are beginning to blow around.

Day 242/365

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"-Hunter S. Thompson
One of my favorite perspectives to live by!

Day 241/365

Great birthday morning with an easy mile & hitting the strength work like a 21 year old! Gotta give the 40-44 year old age group a run for their money one last time this Fall!

Monday, August 28, 2017

Day 240/365

Temps returned to what's normal today. But there's definitely the hint of Fall in the air.

Sunday, August 27, 2017

Day 239/365

Well, they survived 42 miles of work this week. Good sound quality, easy to use, better BT reception than shitty Beats, 1/6 of the price of my old shitty Beats & I bet they actually honor your purchase with a new set if they break in less than a year. Diggin it!

Day 238/365

Excellent day to earn a living running outside watching good effort & drive.

Day 237/365

"I run because it's so symbolic of life. You have to drive yourself to overcome the obstacles. You might feel that you can't. But then you find your inner strength, and realize you're capable of so much more than you thought."-Arthur Blank
23 Days until my 14th marathon!

Day 236/365

Loving the cooler, Fall type weather! But why on my vacation?!!!!

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

Day 235/365

When I'm on vacation I always feel like I'm some superstar pro-runner who's only job is to train. Good effort today, hence the "serious runner pro-runner" face!

Day 234/365

Me more than anybody can appreciate hard work when it comes to fitness. But the gym today left me wondering what all that grunting & strutting around like a peacock is doing for them? They're certainly the 1st ones going down in a zombie apocalypse.

Monday, August 21, 2017

Day 233/365

When you're a streaker, you don't give a damn. You'll run even during an eclipse! RSD-940!

Sunday, August 20, 2017

Day 232/365

I've learned that after care is worth sometimes taking longer to do than the actual running.

Saturday, August 19, 2017

Day 231/365

Ok, so maybe it was stupid to not bring anything to drink? What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Unless of course, it kills you.

Friday, August 18, 2017

Day 230/365

Having some luck finding this, running non-stop in high heat, mixed with being on antibiotics will hopefully help me to start to finally kick this ridiculous summer cold thingy.

Thursday, August 17, 2017

Day 229/365

Finding the pointy ends of your limits is what it's all about.

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

Day 228/365

The Nano finally died today. I'll missed it today. Knew my son's old Touch would come in handy someday. Just have to jailbreak it for some tweaks & it'll be ready to run.

Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Day 227/365

No, I'm not flashing gang signs. Just happy that today's mileage puts me a few miles over 4,000 total for my streak. Past that 1st year you loose track of the numbers. But that sure does sound cool!

Monday, August 14, 2017

Day 226/365

Well, I guess it's a good thing they're phasing out the Nano. I wish I could find a music playing product that withstands the miles like I do.

Sunday, August 13, 2017

Day 225/365

Still trying to get rid of this chest cold. So I leave you with a quote from my favorite president.

Saturday, August 12, 2017

Day 224/365

Not as comfortable of a long run today. But still an excellent few hours to ponder what matters.

Friday, August 11, 2017

Day 223/365

When people can smell you before they see you running, you know it's time for a new pair!

Thursday, August 10, 2017

Day 222/365

These past 2 weeks have reminded me of how hard distance running is. The workouts that just keep on coming regardless of how you feel, the dead legs, the soreness that you feel in your bones, the heat, humidity & thunderstorms. When You're out there facing all that, it touches your damn your soul.

Wednesday, August 9, 2017

Day 221/365

Tried to channel that inner superhero tonight. But no luck.

Tuesday, August 8, 2017

Day 220/365

Been feeling quite discouraged with how hard my body's taking 26.2 training so far this season. It's really whopped my immune system. But as if on cue, I see this gentleman tonight working hard directly in front of me. Inspirational to say the least & a reminder that we as individuals can accomplish much if we simply believe. Thank you.

Monday, August 7, 2017

Day 219/365

Nothing says you've got dreams in your heart like being out there in the pouring rain putting the hard work in while being sick.

Sunday, August 6, 2017

Day 218/365

Exhausted this morning. But it was nice to have most of the gym to myself & to catch the sun as it rose in the sky.

Saturday, August 5, 2017

Day 217/365

Excellent time this morning getting lost on some roads that I've never run down. Found some much need peace & reflection. My smile was a real one!

Friday, August 4, 2017

Day 216/365

I run in everything except lightning. Didn't want a repeat of doing that yesterday. So it was inside tonight. Glad I did! Clouds of death!

Thursday, August 3, 2017

Day 215/365

Hard to take a good picture when it's pouring out & you're drenched. But it was fun running through puddles at the end.

Wednesday, August 2, 2017

Day 214/365

If our bodies were designed to run long distances, then why is it always so damn hard, especially during hill repeats?!

Tuesday, August 1, 2017

Day 213/365

121.10 miles for the month of July. That makes for 819.55 miles & dollars for the year. Still in it!
